For the occasional animal
who can’t pass our medical and/or socialization standards, KCF offers life-long sanctuary. We are making best efforts not to increase our numbers. The goal is to adopt out as many animals as possible.
Sanctuaries can have their own set of problems long term, often caretakers become too old to provide appropriate care. But for some special needs animals, unfortunately there is no home waiting outside our gates.
There are approximately 100 animals living at KCF. Many are special needs. Like Angie, a cat who has giantism which required us to fly her to the mainland for gama-knife brain radiation. She now needs insulin twice a day, as well as
2 other medications.
Or Whitney, the 15 year old dog who was found with a club-leg full of cancer. We removed her leg and she lived a happy life on the farm for 2 more years.
And then there's Circles, a happy go lucky kitten who had a neurological condition that caused her to go blind and also causes her to run in circles.
KCF is also home to a number of rescued farm animals - pigs, ducks and chickens, including rescued cockfighting roosters.
If you would like to book a private tour, we ask for a $40 donation per person.
